This month’s guest band is Jambalaya Swing Band.
Led by Ken Brock, also leader of Devil Mountain Jazz Band, the Jambalaya Swing Band plays a variety of music from the 1920’s thru the 1950’s. The size of the band is based upon the general size of bands that played during that era of music.
In additions to “Swing Music”, the band plays waltz’s, latins’, sultry ballads, and big band swing.
Members of Jambalaya Swing band are: Mike Young, Mike Kenney, Stuart Yasaki and Bruce Saxton, saxophones; Ron Wetzel, trombone; Mack Horton, Noel Weidcamp and band leader Ken Brock, trumpets; Rich Owens, piano; Julianne George, bass; Don Krieger, drums.
The Modesto Traditional Jazz Society meets the third Sunday of the Month from 12 p.m. - 5 p.m. at the
